Black Widow

Speaking specifically for the Smackdown bouts and the PPV in general, I enjoyed Summerslam. The Hell in a Cell match felt like an instant classic. The Undertaker and Edge waged a physical war. These two syperstars told an epic story and it certainly ranks near the top of any HIAC match I have ever broadcast. For me a great match needs a strong storyline and effort and this match definately had those elements in place. Not sure when we might see Edge again after this conflict but his star is brighter than ever. As far as 'Taker is concerned, who's been better for the long haul? No one in the WWE for my money. The WWE Title bout far exceeded my expectations. HHH wrestled a smart match and prooved again why he is the WWE Champion. Khali is an unique opponent and the match was better than many expected all things considered. Jeff Hardy vs. MVP was an excellent start to the PPV. Hardy now has issues w/ MVP and U.S. Champion Shelton Benjamin. We might even see MVP vs Benjamin some day. Jeff is without question one of the top tier most popular stars in all the WWE. Sure glad these men are on S'Down. Now is their time to continue to raise their games. The HBK/Rebecca/Jericho business as hellaciously compelling. Amazing stuff. Reminded me of a big time, old school incident. Just outstanding.

Cena-Batista raised their games in Indy and the Batista victory surprised me. It will be interesting to see where this pairing goes next. Enjoyed seeing Matt Cappotelli Sunday who looked great after battling brain cancer for seemingly the longest time. What a great kid who has endured what no one would ever wish on their worst enemy. Matt has taken tons of chemo and radiation and at this time the tumor looks non existent. Matt gets a MRI every other month to monitor any growth of the tumor. I can't put into words how much I admire Matt's courage and positive frame of mind. I also heard that Bobby Heenan was doing better and is going thru speech therapy and watching plenty of baseball on TV. I love Bobby like a brother and he is one of my all time favorite people. I have never seen any one in the biz w/ so much all around talent as Bobby which includes wrestling, managing, and broadcasting. "The Brain" is one of a kind. I made it to the Quad Cities where Tuesday we will tape what should be a very interesting Friday Night Smackdown. Until then, I'm hooked on the Little League World Series, one of the purest forms of sports on TV. Finally, it was great seeing my old partner The King at S'Slam as we rode together Sunday. The "band was back together" for a short while. My new broadcast partner, Tazz, did a super job carrying yours truly in Indy. Between Tazz' Brooklyn accent and my Oklahoma drawl, no one else will sound like us and we will likely give the closed captioning folks hell.
