The film, about a man who cons people into paying for his ailing mother's medical bills, stars Sam Rockwell and Angelica Houston.

The festival will also include documentaries about the Arctic Monkeys, Patti Smith and The Beatles.

Raindance takes place from 1-12 October in London's West End.

"Raindance showcases a lot of interesting, independent films that you would not see otherwise," festival patron Ken Loach said.

"It makes you realise just how many films are made that you never get to see."

For the first time the festival will also include an audience award for a feature film voted for by the festival audience and a competition for the best 60 second short film.

Raindance director Elliot Grove said: "We are excited to present a fantastic line-up of international films which represent the true nature of the festival and excellence within independent film making."

The closing gala will include the world premiere of former Radio 1 DJ Mark Tonderai's directorial debut Hush.
