John Layfield appeared as a guest on the Wednesday night episode of Red Eye on Fox News Channel. For people not familiar with the show, it is a show that looks at some of the news stories and gives it a twist that most would not expect from Fox News Channel (some might say it is the McLaughlin Group on black tar heroin).

Layfield was introduced as the CEO of his company, but they did reference his wrestling career during the show and did not talk about wrestling in a negative way. He was a bit critical of both presidential candidates since Tuesday’s debate was a topic. He also discussed some of the pork that was in the ‘bailout’ package.

One of the topics was the ‘E-mail goggles’ that Google is introducing so people don’t send e-mails that you would regret in the morning. Layfield mentioned that he once got so drunk that he e-mailed his resignation in the WWE. He mentioned that he begged Vince for his job back.

During the ‘Post-Game Wrap Up’, his many titles were brought up before he was asked if Bill Schulz could take him if he was tied to a tree. John mentioned that Schulz couldn’t beat him up in a week. Layfield was then asked if he was related to the John Layfield who contributed to the translation of the King James Bible in the 16th Century, and John said that they were not related.

I thought Layfield came off good on the show and had a sense of humor that some might not have expected based on his character. Red Eye airs on Fox News Channel weekdays at 3:00 a.m. and on weekends at midnight
