Slam! Wrestling has an interview online today with Johnny Devine where he talks about departing TNA to pursue a future in broadcasting. Devine says he has hopes of enrolling in the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Detroit, Michigan.

When asked about why he left TNA with a growing amount of talent coming to the company (such as Mick Foley, Booker T, Kurt Angle, and Christian Cage), Devine said that hardest thing to swallow is difference in pay. He says that they are legends but their salaries aren’t even remotely close and that word travels fast backstage. Devine then shot down rumors that he made $30,000 a year by saying he made more than that and flights were covered.

He goes on to talk about how he was set back immensely when he was stabbed in the gut four years ago outside a Nashville bar. He had to have his gall bladder and a foot of intestine removed. Devine ends the interview by saying he will never give up on the wrestling business.
