Showers and thunderstorms rolled across the Plains and Mississippi Valley on Saturday.
A tornado was reported in Texas, causing trees to fall and a church was damaged.
Temperatures were warm on either side of the Plains. High pressure kept conditions dry along the East Coast and warmed temperatures into the 80s. Higher temperatures into the 90s were observed in the Ohio Valley.
The Southwest also was warm with temperatures in the 90s and 100s. Areas of Northern California, including the Bay Area warmed into the 80s and 90s. The Northwest warmed into the 60s and 70s.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from 32 degrees at Alamosa, Colorado, to 109 degrees at Palm Springs, California.
