A review of the FA Cup first round matches played on Sunday. Peterborough clinched a 1-0 win over AFC Hornchurch.
A last-gasp goal from Craig Mackail-Smith gave Peterborough a 1-0 win over Ryman Premier side AFC Hornchurch in the first round of the FA Cup.

Mackail-Smith clinched the League One side's passage to the second round by pouncing on a loose ball after Hornchurch goalkeeper Dale Brightly spilled a seemingly-straightforward George Boyd drive in the 90th minute.

Dean Green came close to equalising for the home side but Posh held on to set up a second-round tie with either Accrington Stanley or Tranmere Rovers.

Last season's cup heroes Havant & Waterlooville failed to cause an upset at Westleigh Park, where they lost 3-1 to League Two side Brentford.

The Bees opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Marvin Williams tucked home from close range after Kevin Scriven spilled a Nathan Elder shot.

Charlie MacDonald added a second after 65 minutes before Ian Simpemba put the hosts back in it with a clinical header seven minutes later.

Any hopes Hawks fans had of earning a replay were dashed three minutes from time, however, when Elder converted from 12 yards to seal the win. Brentford will now travel to Eastbourne Borough or Barrow.

Kaid Mohamed's winner 15 minutes from time gave Forest Green a 1-0 win at Blue Square South side Team Bath. The Blue Square Premier outfit will now host Barnet or Rochdale.
