The Celtics lead the Eastern Conference with a 14-2 record, a game and a half ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and two and a half ahead of the Orlando Magic.

LeBron James scored 14 points in 17 minutes to help the Cavaliers post their third win in a row with a 117-82 victory over the hapless Oklahoma City Thunder, while the Magic claimed a dramatic 96-94 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers with Rashard Lewis hitting a three-pointer with four seconds remaining.

The Detroit Pistons ended their two-game losing streak with their biggest scoring output since acquiring Allen Iverson in a 110-96 rout of the New York Knicks. Richard Hamilton led Detroit with 17 points, Iverson finished with 16 points and five assists and Rodney Stuckey added 13 and 11 off the bench.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference, Chris Bosh scored 39 points and pulled down 11 boards to help the Toronto Raptors snap a two-game skid with a 93-86 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Al Horford scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, leading the Atlanta Hawks to a 102-96 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks and Danny Granger tipped home his missed shot with 13.7 seconds left to give the Indiana Pacers a 91-90 victory over the Houston Rockets.

The Phoenix Suns moved up to second place in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Lakers with an 11-5 record after surviving a late surge by the Minnesota Timberwolves for a 110-102 win.

Steve Nash led the way with 20 points and six assists for the Suns, while Shaquille O'Neal added 18 and 10 boards and Amare Stoudemire chipped in with 16.

Carmelo Anthony had 30 points and 11 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets held on for a 106-105 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers to move up to third on 10-5, while the Utah Jazz are 10-6 after Paul Millsap scored 24 points and had a career-high 16 boards in a 117-100 rout of the Memphis Grizzlies.
