Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling report - Week 7

Originally aired Nov. 29 on CMT

The bruised and battered celebrity wrestlers get a visit from Hulk Hogan, who teaches them the move they’ve been waiting for. Then, the coaches chop them down to size and slam them into shape for the two most exciting matches yet. Another celebrity is sent packing, and the wrestlers get even closer to the CCW championship belt.

Original Cast:

Team Hogan: Danny Bonaduce, Todd Bridges, Butterbean, Trishelle Cannatella, Dustin Diamond, Dennis Rodman
Team Beefcake: Tiffany
Team Nasty: Erin Murphy, Frank Stallone, Nikki Ziering
Coaches: Brutus Beefcake & Brian Knobs
Judges: Eric Bischoff, Jimmy Hart & Hulk Hogan

At the lounge, the celebrities talk about how hard Dennis hits people. Todd shows off a bruise he got on his rear end, which luckily CMT blurs for our safety. Butterbean complains about the chair shot he got from Dennis. The coaches & Dennis arrive, and the coaches congratulate the celebrities on their work. Dennis says it’s all good and Knobs puts him over. Beefcake tells them about a little thing called a receipt, and Knobs says it’s wrestling, not tiddlywinks. I liked tiddlywinks. At the arena, Eric gives them two moves to learn, the arm drag and a basic chop. Hulk drops by in his ring gear to teach them the third move, a body slam. Dustin says it’s the move that made Hulk’s career, and Hulk talks about how Andre the Giant weighed 700 pounds at WrestleMania III and it was a big moment, brother. Danny weighs much less than that, so it’s easy for Hulk to slam him. Butterbean talks about how doing a body slam makes him feel like a man. Dustin & Danny’s attempts at slamming people don’t go well, and Dennis slams Danny a bit hard. Bean’s slam on Dennis is classified as weak, and everybody tries to slam Butterbean. It doesn’t go well, not even for Brutus Beefcake, much to the amusement of Hulk & Knobs. This week there will be a triple threat match between Danny, Dustin & Todd, and Butterbean will face Dennis in a battle of the big men. Butterbean is excited, and Knobs speculates that there may be some receipts coming.

Time to practice! Dustin is worried about the chop, while Butterbean seems to enjoy giving them to people. Knobs works with Butterbean & Dennis on their match. Dennis doesn’t want to do the chop, and cusses a lot about something or other. Hulk stops by and demonstrates the 10 punch mount in the corner on Butterbean. Knobs notes that Dennis’s attitude has changed recently, and not for the better. Hulk pulls Dennis aside and tells him that he needs him to be the leader that he was early on in the competition. Say what you will about the Hulkster, but he seems great at these pep talks and making people feel better about themselves. Meanwhile, Beefcake helps the others work on their match. Danny says that he wouldn’t mind bleeding. The guys make fun of Dustin’s dancing elbow and he takes offense to it, but Danny tells him that the fact that people notice it is a compliment and he needs to do it every match since it’s his signature move. Hulk drops by and tells them that he wants to see the magic from them. Shockingly enough, these guys seem to be working well together. Maybe Danny’s overly medicated.

We’re back at the gym and it’s the last practice before showtime. All the celebrities show up and work on their stuff before the coaches get there, which impresses the coaches. Todd doesn’t like Dustin’s attempts at coaching, and Knobs speculates that Dustin might be getting caught up in his own hype. Danny is excited about the match. Hulk brings in the infamous Dr. Unger to check the celebrities out before the match. All of them check out fine except Dustin, who has all sorts of physical maladies. Danny says that Dustin is a weak and frail man. Dr. Unger lists all of Dustin’s injuries, the worst probably being his left knee, but Dustin says he will wrestle anyway.

It’s match time!

Match 1: Triple Threat Match
The Winner vs. Mr. Not So Perfect vs. “Dangerous” Danny Bonaduce

The three men try to form alliances with each other, it seems like Danny’s going to go with NSP, but kicks him while shaking his hand! It seems that Danny & Winner have formed some mutual respect after their match last week, as they work over NSP with a double elbow, a double bodyslam, and a double elbow drop. Their chops in the corner leave something to be desired, as Hulk calls them the weakest he’s ever seen. NSP flies over the top rope, Danny goes up top but Winner crotches him on the top rope! Winner works them both over on the outside, throwing NSP into the guardrail and giving Danny some of the same treatment. Noggin knocker, and Winner taunts the Hulkster! NSP gains the advantage on both of them and gets a little revenge for earlier. Back in the ring and a big bodyslam on Danny while Winner sells on the outside. NSP tries to ram Danny’s head into the top turnbuckle, but Danny misses and hits the middle one instead. NSP hits the handspring elbow and Danny goes outside. Winner goes inside and gets slammed by NSP, some chops follow that and he hits the cartwheel into a punch in the corner. He tosses Winner outside and hits a suicide dive onto Winner & Danny! NSP throws them back in the ring and pauses on the apron to do some showmanship, but Winner & Danny catapult him back into the ring! They get into an argument over who will win the match and they turn on each other. A schoolboy by NSP on Winner gets a two count. NSP & Danny take each other out with a double clothesline, and while the referee isn’t looking Winner slips something into his elbow pad…he whacks both Danny & NSP with it while avoiding the referee’s sight. Winner does his weird dance into a double pin!

Winner: The Winner

Match 2: Battle of the Big Men
One Mean Bean vs. Rodzilla

Both men stare each other down and Rod shoves Bean, following up with a clubbing forearm. Kick in the corner by Rod, 10 punches and some biting at the end! It looks like Bean’s nose is trickling some blood, as Rod must have caught him with one of those punches. Big elbow in the corner, Rod tries a shoulderblock but it doesn’t work and Bean sends him outside. Bean sends Rod’s head into the apron and then into the guardrail. Rod fights back and tries to slam Bean, but Bean has none of that. However, Bean will slam Rod through a table! Chair to the back by Bean, perhaps some payback for last week. Back in the ring, Bean does the old Earthquake hop and splashes Rod for a two count. Bean slams Rod’s had into the turnbuckle and follows up with a big chop. Two splashes in the corner and an elbow drop gets a two count. Rodzilla does some Hulking up and knocks Bean down after some clotheslines and a flying forearm. Rod goes up for his second rope clothesline, but Bean catches him and hits a side slam to get the three count!

Winner: One Mean Bean

Rodzilla wears Bean out with a trash can after the match, and Hulk says that’s what you call doing business.

Elimination time! Hulk says they tore the building down, but somebody still has to go. Eric tells Dennis that he’s still working too stiff. Hulk says that Todd has impressed him a lot but needs more control. Eric says that Butterbean never breaks character, but needs to work on his covers. Hulk tells those three that they are safe. Hulk doesn’t understand how Dustin’s chops and kicks can be so bad. Hulk loves Danny’s intensity, but wishes he could hit as hard as he looks at people. It’s the toughest call yet, but Danny Bonaduce is a jabroni and must get out of Hulk’s ring.

Danny is a two-time jabroni and he doesn’t even know what that means. No hard feelings, he’s still a Hulkamaniac.

Join us next time when the final four fight for the belt and the jabronis come back!
