Actor Dennis Quaid has agreed a $750,000 (£493,000) settlement with a US hospital that gave his baby twins an accidental drugs overdose.

Legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court show the Quaids and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center have agreed on damages for the parents.

However, they can still pursue claims on behalf of their children.

The documents also state Cedars-Sinai is not admitting wrongdoing as part of the settlement.

The Quaids sued drug maker Baxter Healthcare in Illinois over the drug's packaging, according to the documents.

However, that case has now been dismissed.

The petition filed Monday indicates Baxter may also sue Cedars-Sinai, which administered too much blood-thinning drug Heparin to several patients in November 2007, including the Quaids' twins.

Quaid's twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, were mistakenly given 10,000 units of Heparin instead of the normal 10 units, in November 2007.

The children were two weeks old at the time of the incident and were soon well enough to return home.
