Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man has topped the North American box office in its opening weekend, early estimates show.
The film, which sees the funnyman turn his life around by subscribing to a philosophy of saying "yes" to everything, took $18.2m (£12.2m).
Will Smith film Seven Pounds entered the chart at number two with $16m (£10.7m) - the star's worst opening weekend performance in seven years.
Mouse tale The Tale of Despereaux opened at three with $10.5m (£7m).
Sci-fi remake The Day the Earth Stood Still fell from the top spot to number four in a week which saw fairly low tickets sales due to a winter storm that hit most of the eastern side of the States.

Warner Bros which released Yes Man, said the bad weather knocked about $2.5m (£1.7m) off its total but it hoped to make the money back in subsequent weeks.
Columbia Pictures said it had wanted an opening in the $20m range for Smith's Seven Pounds, but was also hopeful of regaining ground.
Critics were largely hostile towards the film, where Smith plays a despondent man who decides to redeem himself by committing random acts of kindness.
In a limited release, Mickey Rourke's acclaimed drama The Wrestler made a heavyweight debut taking in $209,474 (£140,000) in just four cinemas averaging $52,369 (£35,000) per cinema.
By comparison, Yes Man played in 3,434 cinemas and averaged $£3,500 per cinema.
