Brad Pitt enlisted a less-famous friend to buy his Christmas present for Angelina Jolie.
According to The Daily Mail the star tried to purchase the complete works of Hungarian director Bela Tarr for the actress however shop clerks thought he was a prank caller.
Pitt's pleas were ignored when shop clerks at a small DVD store in Budapest kept hanging up on him, because they thought he was playing a joke on them.
An insider told the newspaper: "He tried several times on the phone but had to give up. They just didn't believe him."
In the end, the star called a friend in the city, opera singer Laszlo Domahidy, to purchase the DVD's for him.
