It is time to close the book on the Raw brand for the year 2008 tonight as we start to establish matches for the Royal Rumble pay per view featuring the 30 man ‘Duck and Boost’ match to determine who will get to point at the Wrestlemania 25 sign above the ring. We will find out who might be one of the options for the winner of the Rumble match when four men walk into the ring to see who will face John Cena. Will it be Randy Orton who qualified by forfeit due to Batista’s injury; Shawn Michaels who qualified by beating Kane; Chris Jericho who qualified by beating CM Punk; or will it be John Bradshaw Layfield who advanced thanks to Shawn Michaels getting Rey Mysterio disqualified due to outside interference. What is next for the Legacy and will we see any second generation wrestlers join Manu, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton? Who will win the Battle Royale to determine the challenger for Beth Phoenix’s Women’s Title at the Royal Rumble? What will Shawn Michaels have to do for his boss this week? Rey Mysterio is in the ring and he says that he was seconds away from hitting the 619 on Bradshaw and a match away from competing for the World Title. That was taken away by someone. We see footage from last week when Shawn Michaels got Rey disqualified.
Rey tells Shawn that he respects him very much and he understands that Shawn has fallen on hard times. The fact is that they have a problem. Rey wants Shawn Michaels to come out so he can say something to Shawn Michaels.
Shawn Michaels comes out to the ring and he has a mic. Rey tells Shawn that he knows that despite his affiliation with Bradshaw, he is a good person. Rey isn’t asking Shawn for his spot in the match to see who will wrestle for the title at the Royal Rumble. Rey wants to face Shawn for an opportunity to get back into the Fatal Four Way match. Rey says that he is asking Shawn to ‘do the right thing’. Shawn accepts the offer.
Bradshaw appears in the arena and he tells Rey that Shawn’s answer is no. Bradshaw says that since Shawn Michaels is his employee, any decision related to Shawn Michaels has to be approved by him. The only match Shawn will be in is the Fatal Four Way Match tonight. Bradshaw tells Shawn that he would appreciate it if Shawn left the ring right now.
Rey tries to talk to Shawn but Shawn walks towards the back. Rey wants to know if he is going to do everything that Bradshaw tells him. Rey tells Shawn that money cannot make up for selling your soul. Rey is attacked by Mike Knox and he throws Rey around the ring like a rag doll. Bradshaw and Shawn go to the back. Mike with a cobra clutch and he shakes Rey around the ring.
John Cena comes out and he clotheslines Knox over the top rope to save Rey. Knox goes into the crowd while Cena and Rey remain in the ring.
We go to commercial.
We are back and the Legacy is in the locker room and Sim Snuka is there. He says that it will be bigger than the Four Horsemen, DX, and Evolution. He says that they have singles matches tonight and if they win they complete step one. If they lose they are done.
Legacy Phase One Qualifying Match for Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes vs CM Punk
William Regal comes out to watch the action with Layla at ringside since Punk will face Regal for the Intercontinental Title next week on Raw.
They lock up and Rhodes with a rollup. Punk with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Rhodes with a drop toe hold and another rollup for a near fall. Punk with a side head lock take down and Rhodes with another near fall. Punk with a snap mare and kicks to the back for a near fall. Rhodes with a double leg take down and another cover. Punk with a leg lariat for a near fall. Rhodes with a kick to the midsection but Punk tries for a DDT and Rhodes holds on to the ropes and he gets another series of near falls. Rhodes with a slam and he hits the Ric Flair knee drop for another near fall. Rhodes with a full nelson on Punk but Punk gets to his feet and escapes the hold. Punk with a series of kicks to Rhodes and then Punk goes up top for a cross body but the momentum sends Rhodes on top and Rhodes gets a two count. Punk ducks and boosts Rhodes to the apron and then Punk kicks Rhodes off the apron. Punk with a suicide dive and Punk hits the announce table after grazing Rhodes and both men are down.
Punk with forearms and kicks while Rhodes with a punch. Punk with a knee to Rhodes and then Punk stares at Regal as Rhodes slides back into the ring and the ref makes the ten count.
Winner: Cody Rhodes and earns his Legacy Card
After the match
Punk with forearms to Rhodes and a bulldog. Regal comes into the ring with a knee to Punk’s head.
Backstage
John Cena is in Stephanie’s office and Stephanie tells Cena that she is serious about John Cena doing commentary. Cena thanks Stephanie in a pre-recorded sounding voice about the commentary. John Cena does a Harry Caray impression and then says that the decision to have him announce is as lame as Mike Adamle. Cena wants to do something on the final Raw of the year. Cena wants Stephanie to put him in a match with Mike Knox, Rey Mysterio, and anyone else. The crowd apparently likes that idea so Cena tries to convince Stephanie to do the right thing.

We are back with SantaDust and talks about the gifts for the Superstars.
It is time for an update on Batista and his hamstring. We see footage of Batista being kicked by Randy Orton two weeks ago on Raw. Cole talks about how Batista had two teeth kicked out and had a concussion. Lawler says that Batista decided to have some hamstring surgery. We go to footage of Batista in the hospital. Batista says that when he comes back, Randy Orton is his first priority.
Number One Contender’s Battle Royale
Kelly Kelly, Katie Lea, Mickie James, Candice Michelle, Melina, and Jillian Hall
Before the match begins, Beth Phoenix is introduced by Santino Marella and they join Cole and Lawler at the announce table. Rosa Mendes is at ringside too.
They square off and Candice with a spinning heel kick to Jillian. Katie eliminates Candice. Jillian and Katie with a double clothesline to Mickie. Kelly with a rana to Jillian. Melina and Kelly try to eliminate Katie but Jillian eliminates Kelly. Jillian with an X Factor to Melina as Katie and Jillian double team Melina. Mickie eliminates Katie and Jillian while they try to eliminate Melina.
They shake hands and then they lock up with Mickie working on the arm. Melina reverses and applies a side head lock. Mickie with a forearm but Melina with a shoulder tackle. Mickie runs Melina into the turnbuckles. Mickie charges at Melina but Melina sends Mickie to the apron. Mickie tries for a springboard move, but Melina kicks Mickie to eliminate her.
Winner: Melina
After the match
Beth goes into the ring and she holds the belt up and then slaps Melina and throws her out of the ring. Melina with a kick and punches to Beth and then Melina sends Beth into the announce table while Santino tells Melina to watch out for the face. From out of the crowd, Rosa attacks Melina and then she is taken out of the arena.
Backstage
Todd Grisham is in the interview area with Chris Jericho. Chris has a serious look on his face as he interrupts Todd. Chris says that superstar of the year is not the only accolade he has earned. He says that he has been named the Jerk of the Year. He wants to know why he was named the Jerk of the Year. He told the truth and exposed the fans as hypocrites. He says the fans will make New Year’s Resolutions and break them two days later. He says that he vowed to win the World Title and he did it twice. He proved Shawn Michaels to be a phony. He says that he will win tonight to win the title at the Royal Rumble. Jericho tells everyone to look in the mirror to see the Jerk of the Year. We go to commercial.

Sim Snuka vs Jimmy Snukhaas
Sim attacks ‘dad’ as the bell rings and then he slams Charlie’s head to the mat and gets a near fall. Haas with a chop but Sim slams Haas into the mat and then hits a knee drop. Snuka with a version of a pedigree for a two count. Snuka chokes Haas in the ropes. Haas with chops and a head butt to Snuka. Snuka with a flying knee to Haas for a two count. Snuka with a rear chin lock but Haas gets to his feet and he punches Snuka. Sim with an elbow to Haas for a near fall. Snuka with a forearm to the back and a knee drop. Snuka works on the arm. Haas sends Snuka into the turnbuckles. Haas with a leap frog and a chop. Haas with a flying double sledge for a two count. Haas with a back breaker and then he goes up top for the Superfly Splash but he lands on Sim’s knees. Sim with a kick to the head and he gets the three count.

Rey Mysterio and John Cena are walking in the back and Rey puts on his outer mask as they get ready for their ten man tag match. We go to commercial.
John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, and Cryme Tyme vs Mike Knox, John Morrison, The Miz, Kane, and Dolph Ziggler
JTG and Ziggler start things off and JTG with a knee and a leap frog leg drop for a near fall. Shad tags in and he sends JTG into Ziggler before sending Ziggler into the turnbuckles. Shad with an Irish whip and then Morrison tags in and he gets clotheslined by Shad. Kofi tags in and he hits a forearm on Morrison. Morrison with a knee but Kofi with a monkey flip and drop kick followed by a leaping clothesline. All ten men are in the ring and we go to commercial.
We are back and Miz has Kofi in a rear chin lock. We see footage during the commercial when Kofi missed a cross body and that changed the momentum of the match. Miz pulls Kofi down to the mat by the hair. Kofi with a head scissors and then Rey is tagged in. Rey with a kick to Miz and then he hits a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Rey with boots to Miz and then he hits a rana and kick to Miz. Miz with a double thrust but Rey with a kick. Kane punches Rey while Rey tries for a rana. Kane tags in and he Irish whips Rey and hits a back breaker. Knox tags in and he connects with a knee drop. Knox sends Rey into the corner and then he Irish whips Rey and hits a splash into the corner. Ziggler tags in and he kicks Rey in the back. Ziggler with another kick to Rey and a reverse chin lock and he adds pressure. Rey returns to his feet but Ziggler tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Rey escapes. He does not escape a clothesline.
Morrison is tagged in and he punches Rey. Morrison with a European uppercut and then he puts Rey on the turnbuckles for a super belly-to-back suplex but Rey blocks it and Rey punches Morrison. Rey turns it into a super reverse hurricanrana. Knox tags in and Rey is able to tag in Cena. Cena knocks Kane off the apron and then he punches Knox. Cena with a flying shoulder tackle or two. Cryme Tyme takes care of Miz and Morrison. Kane has Cena ready for a choke slam but Kofi with a drop kick. Cena with a Blue Thunder Bomb to Knox and then one to Ziggler. Cena with the Five Knuckle Shuffle to Knox while Kofi hits the leaping leg drop on Ziggler. Kofi with the spinning heel kick to Ziggler and then Cena with the FU to Knox for the three count. Rey wants to be tagged in. Rey with the splash for the three count.

They lock up and Hardy with a wrist lock and Manu reverses and puts Matt in a side head lock. Manu with a shoulder tackle for a near fall and a side head lock. Manu with a punch to the midsection and clothesline for a near fall. Manu with a slam and then he gets another near fall. Manu with a snap mare and a reverse chin lock and he isolates the arm. Hardy escapes the hold and he punches Manu repeatedly. Hardy with a kick to Manu and then Manu gets ‘ducked and boosted’ over the top rope. Hardy with a baseball slide to Hardy and then Matt goes outside the ring. Hardy returns Manu to the ring and then hardy with a series of elbow drops. Hardy with a neck breaker for another near fall. Manu hot shots Hardy and then he gets a near fall. Manu with a head butt and a diving head butt for a near fall. Manu with a sleeper and he takes Matt to the mat. Matt reaches for the ropes but Manu releases the hold and hits a head butt to the back for a series of near falls. Manu with a slam but he misses a moonsault from the second turnbuckle. Hardy with a clothesline and running forearm to the head for a two count. Matt punches Manu and hits the Side Effect for a near fall. Hardy tries for another Side Effect but Manu with a rollup. Hardy tries for the Twist of Fate but Manu sends Hardy into the turnbuckles. Manu blocks a double sledge and Manu with a running neck breaker for a two count. Hardy rolls into the corner and Manu sets for a charge but Hardy with a drop toe hold and Hardy with a running clothesline and Manu pushes Hardy off on the bulldog attempt, but Manu with a drop kick for a two count. Manu with an Irish whip and he hits a splash into the corner. Manu with an Irish whip and he hits another splash into the corner. Manu gets Hardy up but Matt holds on to the ropes and Hardy hits the Twist of Fate for the three count.

All four men stand in the center of the ring and the referee tries to get two to the apron. Michaels and Jericho start things off and Shawn talks to Bradshaw. Michaels with a rollup on Jericho for a near fall followed by a back slide for a two count. Jericho with a hip toss but Jericho is kicked away by Michaels. Michaels with an arm drag and Jericho goes to the floor as we go to commercial.
We are back and Orton and Jericho are now in the ring. They lock up and Orton with a side head lock. Orton with a shoulder tackle and then Jericho with a drop kick for a near fall. Jericho with punches in the corner followed by a kick. Orton kicks and punches Jericho but Jericho with forearms. Orton with a power slam for a two count. Orton with a boot to the head. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho but Orton is able to use his legs to avoid the attempt and Orton goes to the floor. Jericho with the springboard drop kick that sends Orton to the floor. The referee starts his count but Jericho interrupts it. Jericho tries to suplex Orton back into the ring but Orton floats over and hits a clothesline.
Michaels is tagged in and he chops Jericho. They move into Bradshaw’s corner. Michaels does the Michaels flip as he is Irish whipped by Jericho. Jericho with kicks to the back. Jericho puts Michaels on the top turnbuckle and tries for a superplex but Michaels is able to block it and he punches Jericho and uses a head butt to knocks him off. Michaels with the elbow drop and he sets up for Sweet Chin Music. Bradshaw tags himself in and misses the Clothesline from Wall Street. Jericho with a Codebreaker and Michaels breaks up the cover. Jericho with a cross body and Bradshaw catches him. Jericho does not know about the tag and Jericho with the Walls of Jericho and Michaels with Sweet Chin Music to pin Jericho.
Orton and Michaels continue in the ring as we go to commercial.

Bradshaw with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot. Orton with forearms and a European uppercut. Orton follows that with punches. Bradshaw with a shoulder tackle and both men are down. Bradshaw with punches to Orton and a forearm to the back. Orton with a drop kick and then he goes with the Garvin Stomp. Orton sets for the kick to the head but Bradshaw tags in Michaels.
Michaels chops Orton but Orton with a back breaker to Michaels. Orton with a knee to the back of the neck for a near fall. Orton with kicks to the ribs and then he goes for the Garvin Stomp to Michaels. Orton with boots to the solar plexus. Orton drops for the Orton pushups as he sets for the RKO. Michaels pushes Orton away as he tries for the RKO. Orton and Michaels exchange punches and Michaels adds chops. Michaels with the flying forearm and he kips up and hits the reverse atomic drop. Michaels with a punch and slam and then he goes up top for the elbow drop and he hits it on Orton. Michaels sets for Sweet Chin Music and does it away from Bradshaw. Michaels hits Sweet Chin Music for the three count.
Michaels and Bradshaw stand in the center of the ring and he does not go for the super kick. Bradshaw stands in the ring and he stares at Michaels. Bradshaw tells Shawn to assume the position. Shawn has a sick puppy dog look on his face and he does not want to do it. Shawn starts to cry and then he gets down to one knee but then he gets back up. Bradshaw lectures Shawn on his financial situation and Shawn realizes what he has to do. Shawn lies down on the mat but he gets back up. Bradshaw lectures his employee again. Shawn tells Bradshaw to do it and Bradshaw with the Clothesline from Wall Street for the three count.

Sim attacks ‘dad’ as the bell rings and then he slams Charlie’s head to the mat and gets a near fall. Haas with a chop but Sim slams Haas into the mat and then hits a knee drop. Snuka with a version of a pedigree for a two count. Snuka chokes Haas in the ropes. Haas with chops and a head butt to Snuka. Snuka with a flying knee to Haas for a two count. Snuka with a rear chin lock but Haas gets to his feet and he punches Snuka. Sim with an elbow to Haas for a near fall. Snuka with a forearm to the back and a knee drop. Snuka works on the arm. Haas sends Snuka into the turnbuckles. Haas with a leap frog and a chop. Haas with a flying double sledge for a two count. Haas with a back breaker and then he goes up top for the Superfly Splash but he lands on Sim’s knees. Sim with a kick to the head and he gets the three count.

Rey Mysterio and John Cena are walking in the back and Rey puts on his outer mask as they get ready for their ten man tag match. We go to commercial.
John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, and Cryme Tyme vs Mike Knox, John Morrison, The Miz, Kane, and Dolph Ziggler
JTG and Ziggler start things off and JTG with a knee and a leap frog leg drop for a near fall. Shad tags in and he sends JTG into Ziggler before sending Ziggler into the turnbuckles. Shad with an Irish whip and then Morrison tags in and he gets clotheslined by Shad. Kofi tags in and he hits a forearm on Morrison. Morrison with a knee but Kofi with a monkey flip and drop kick followed by a leaping clothesline. All ten men are in the ring and we go to commercial.
We are back and Miz has Kofi in a rear chin lock. We see footage during the commercial when Kofi missed a cross body and that changed the momentum of the match. Miz pulls Kofi down to the mat by the hair. Kofi with a head scissors and then Rey is tagged in. Rey with a kick to Miz and then he hits a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Rey with boots to Miz and then he hits a rana and kick to Miz. Miz with a double thrust but Rey with a kick. Kane punches Rey while Rey tries for a rana. Kane tags in and he Irish whips Rey and hits a back breaker. Knox tags in and he connects with a knee drop. Knox sends Rey into the corner and then he Irish whips Rey and hits a splash into the corner. Ziggler tags in and he kicks Rey in the back. Ziggler with another kick to Rey and a reverse chin lock and he adds pressure. Rey returns to his feet but Ziggler tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Rey escapes. He does not escape a clothesline.
Morrison is tagged in and he punches Rey. Morrison with a European uppercut and then he puts Rey on the turnbuckles for a super belly-to-back suplex but Rey blocks it and Rey punches Morrison. Rey turns it into a super reverse hurricanrana. Knox tags in and Rey is able to tag in Cena. Cena knocks Kane off the apron and then he punches Knox. Cena with a flying shoulder tackle or two. Cryme Tyme takes care of Miz and Morrison. Kane has Cena ready for a choke slam but Kofi with a drop kick. Cena with a Blue Thunder Bomb to Knox and then one to Ziggler. Cena with the Five Knuckle Shuffle to Knox while Kofi hits the leaping leg drop on Ziggler. Kofi with the spinning heel kick to Ziggler and then Cena with the FU to Knox for the three count. Rey wants to be tagged in. Rey with the splash for the three count.

Manu vs Matt Hardy
They lock up and Hardy with a wrist lock and Manu reverses and puts Matt in a side head lock. Manu with a shoulder tackle for a near fall and a side head lock. Manu with a punch to the midsection and clothesline for a near fall. Manu with a slam and then he gets another near fall. Manu with a snap mare and a reverse chin lock and he isolates the arm. Hardy escapes the hold and he punches Manu repeatedly. Hardy with a kick to Manu and then Manu gets ‘ducked and boosted’ over the top rope. Hardy with a baseball slide to Hardy and then Matt goes outside the ring. Hardy returns Manu to the ring and then hardy with a series of elbow drops. Hardy with a neck breaker for another near fall. Manu hot shots Hardy and then he gets a near fall. Manu with a head butt and a diving head butt for a near fall. Manu with a sleeper and he takes Matt to the mat. Matt reaches for the ropes but Manu releases the hold and hits a head butt to the back for a series of near falls. Manu with a slam but he misses a moonsault from the second turnbuckle. Hardy with a clothesline and running forearm to the head for a two count. Matt punches Manu and hits the Side Effect for a near fall. Hardy tries for another Side Effect but Manu with a rollup. Hardy tries for the Twist of Fate but Manu sends Hardy into the turnbuckles. Manu blocks a double sledge and Manu with a running neck breaker for a two count. Hardy rolls into the corner and Manu sets for a charge but Hardy with a drop toe hold and Hardy with a running clothesline and Manu pushes Hardy off on the bulldog attempt, but Manu with a drop kick for a two count. Manu with an Irish whip and he hits a splash into the corner. Manu with an Irish whip and he hits another splash into the corner. Manu gets Hardy up but Matt holds on to the ropes and Hardy hits the Twist of Fate for the three count.

Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho vs John Bradshaw Layfield vs Shawn Michaels
All four men stand in the center of the ring and the referee tries to get two to the apron. Michaels and Jericho start things off and Shawn talks to Bradshaw. Michaels with a rollup on Jericho for a near fall followed by a back slide for a two count. Jericho with a hip toss but Jericho is kicked away by Michaels. Michaels with an arm drag and Jericho goes to the floor as we go to commercial.
We are back and Orton and Jericho are now in the ring. They lock up and Orton with a side head lock. Orton with a shoulder tackle and then Jericho with a drop kick for a near fall. Jericho with punches in the corner followed by a kick. Orton kicks and punches Jericho but Jericho with forearms. Orton with a power slam for a two count. Orton with a boot to the head. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho but Orton is able to use his legs to avoid the attempt and Orton goes to the floor. Jericho with the springboard drop kick that sends Orton to the floor. The referee starts his count but Jericho interrupts it. Jericho tries to suplex Orton back into the ring but Orton floats over and hits a clothesline.
Michaels is tagged in and he chops Jericho. They move into Bradshaw’s corner. Michaels does the Michaels flip as he is Irish whipped by Jericho. Jericho with kicks to the back. Jericho puts Michaels on the top turnbuckle and tries for a superplex but Michaels is able to block it and he punches Jericho and uses a head butt to knocks him off. Michaels with the elbow drop and he sets up for Sweet Chin Music. Bradshaw tags himself in and misses the Clothesline from Wall Street. Jericho with a Codebreaker and Michaels breaks up the cover. Jericho with a cross body and Bradshaw catches him. Jericho does not know about the tag and Jericho with the Walls of Jericho and Michaels with Sweet Chin Music to pin Jericho.
Orton and Michaels continue in the ring as we go to commercial.
We are back and Bradshaw with a sleeper on Orton. Orton with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the sleeper. Bradshaw with a big boot to Orton followed by an elbow drop for a two count. Bradshaw with a forearm to the back and then he slams Orton’s head into the turnbuckles. The ref pulls Bradshaw off Orton and warns him. Bradshaw stomps on Orton’s hand and then he punches Orton. Bradshaw with an Irish whip but he runs into a boot. Orton with forearms and a European uppercut. Orton follows that with punches. Bradshaw with a shoulder tackle and both men are down. Bradshaw with punches to Orton and a forearm to the back. Orton with a drop kick and then he goes with the Garvin Stomp. Orton sets for the kick to the head but Bradshaw tags in Michaels.
Michaels chops Orton but Orton with a back breaker to Michaels. Orton with a knee to the back of the neck for a near fall. Orton with kicks to the ribs and then he goes for the Garvin Stomp to Michaels. Orton with boots to the solar plexus. Orton drops for the Orton pushups as he sets for the RKO. Michaels pushes Orton away as he tries for the RKO. Orton and Michaels exchange punches and Michaels adds chops. Michaels with the flying forearm and he kips up and hits the reverse atomic drop. Michaels with a punch and slam and then he goes up top for the elbow drop and he hits it on Orton. Michaels sets for Sweet Chin Music and does it away from Bradshaw. Michaels hits Sweet Chin Music for the three count.
Michaels and Bradshaw stand in the center of the ring and he does not go for the super kick. Bradshaw stands in the ring and he stares at Michaels. Bradshaw tells Shawn to assume the position. Shawn has a sick puppy dog look on his face and he does not want to do it. Shawn starts to cry and then he gets down to one knee but then he gets back up. Bradshaw lectures Shawn on his financial situation and Shawn realizes what he has to do. Shawn lies down on the mat but he gets back up. Bradshaw lectures his employee again. Shawn tells Bradshaw to do it and Bradshaw with the Clothesline from Wall Street for the three count.
Winner: Bradshaw
