I heard from multiple sources this week that Barry Windham was released as a producer recently. No one seems to know details behind the departure and it may have been another cost cutting move by World Wrestling Entertainment. He hadn't been around in a few weeks and word began making way a TV this week that he had left the company.

Windham was signed as a Producer around the time his father Blackjack Mulligan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame but didn't start for a long time as he was recovering from back surgery. While he was once one of the best in-ring workers during his prime, I never heard much about his ability as a producer.

He was mediocre as a talent and probably mediocre as a Producer. No big loss here.

Barry Windham was wayyyy more than mediocre as a talent. After Ric Flair & Sting, Windham was just about the best in-ring talent the WCW had back in the late 80's.

As for his abilities as a producer, I figure the WWE knows better than any of us would.

Best of luck to him.
