After rumours that he would be replaced, it has been confirmed that 'Twilight' star Taylor Lautner will be returning for the sequel, 'New Moon'.
Variety reports that the sequel's director, Chris Weitz, made the announcement yesterday.
In the film Lautner's character, Jacob Black, is a central figure in the storyline involving Bella Swann's (Kristen Stewart) journey into the world of the werewolves.
For the role, 16-year-old Lautner has been visiting the gym to gain 19lbs of muscle - his character must age 10 years - with Weitz saying he was also "emotionally right" for the part.
'New Moon' is due out in November.
