U2 warn fans about fake gig tickets

U2 fans have been warned to avoid websites which claim to be selling tickets for upcoming shows by the band.

A statement on U2's official website reads: "There are no tour dates for the band at the moment so please don't get stung by buying tickets for shows that don't exist.

"You can be sure any future live announcements will be made on U2.Com as soon as details are confirmed."
Gardaí have said that the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation is aware of a website selling tickets for a non-existent U2 show at Slane Castle.

You'd have to be pretty silly to buy tickets from a non reputable company that is not a licensed seller.... But surely any fans would check their website for upcoming tour dates and see who to buy their tickets from instead of buying tickets off some random site?!?!
