Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has accused Simon Cowell of "torturing" contestants on 'The X Factor'.
Speaking in The Sun newspaper, he criticised Cowell for "tricking" contestants, rather than developing them as artists.
Lloyd Webber continued "He doesn't work with the artists like I do. I'm here to get the best out of everybody. All my acts call me Andrew, and they all call my mobile when they need help. There will be no tricks on this show. Over my dead body."
The composer is currently involved in a BBC show to find an act to represent the UK at the 'Eurovision Song Contest'. He said "The mantra of the show is that we nurture, we don't torture." This Saturday's on 'Your Country Needs You' the public will be given the chance to vote for their favourite of six acts.
