Lily Allen has moved to clarify lyrical content in a song set to appear on her second album.

Everyone's At It is set to feature on her new record, It's Not Me, It's You.

Allen has said the track is not just about illegal drug use and is not seeking to glamorise the issue.

A statement released today [8 January] on behalf of the singer said: "The song itself talks about a culture of both legally prescribed drugs like anti-depressants and also illegal drug use."

The statement continued: "Lily Allen would like to state unequivocally that she does not condone illegal drug use."

Furthermore, the release says Lily Allen "has every sympathy with individuals and families whose lives have been blighted by drugs".

Confusion

Last year Allen told the Observer newspaper she was "not trying to change anything" with the track. She added: "Drugs are illegal and bad and they ruin people's lives but they're pretty prominent."

Her second record It's Not Me, It's You is released on 2 February.

Following that she'll embark on a UK tour beginning on 14 March in Glasgow.
