The Blues are looking for loan deals this January, meaning no move for City's AWOL superstar...
Following the cruciate ligament injury to Joe Cole's right knee which has ruled him out for the remainder of the season, Chelsea are thought to be ready to enter the January transfer market.

With Robinho allegedly telling Manchester City that he wants to leave the club, it comes as no surprise that he is being linked with a move to the team he wanted to join, and who wanted to sign him, last summer.

However, according to a report in the British broadsheet The Guardian, Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been told he will have little more than the £12 million generated by the sale of Wayne Bridge to spend, which would rule out a move for the former Real Madrid star.

The Daily Star, meanwhile, claims that should the Blues reinforce their squad this transfer window, it is likely to be a loan deal.

"He (Scolari) has said consistently he doesn’t want random replacements if we can’t get the players he identified," Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is quoted as saying.

"We are not generally in the market for players at present. The best players are not usually available mid-season."

The Guardian does suggest that while the West London-based outfit spent little more than £8 million last summer on Deco, they will allow Scolari significantly more funds at the end of the season.
