MARIA decides to dish out her own justice against evil Tony – and runs him over! She is driven to despair when the police ignore her claims about Tony being a killer, so in frustration she tries to mow him down!
“Maria’s hatred for the man she believes murdered her husband bubbles over,” says Samia Smith, who plays her. “Tony’s driven her to this.”
As the week opens, Maria tells the police that Tony has confessed to killing Jed.
She can’t believe it when they tell her Carla has lodged a complaint over her attack on Tony – and that the Gordons may take out an injunction against her!
Beside herself, Maria drives home and when she spots Tony casually going about his business she sees red.
She slams into Tony, leaving him motionless in the street, then crashes her car and ends up in hospital, too!
“It’s then that the enormity of what she has done hits home,” adds Samia. “She can’t believe she put herself and her unborn child in such danger – and could end up in prison – all because of Tony.”
Fortunately, Tony isn’t badly hurt and he covers for Maria, telling the police it was an accident. She is relieved but confused as to why Tony would protect her. Then, when Jed appears back on the street, she is baffled!
“She was wrong about Tony killing Jed,” says Samia. “So she begins to question if she has been wrong about Liam, too.”
