The Italian giants want to take the Croatian international to Serie A..
Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus are considering bidding for Tottenham Hotspur's Luka Modric, according to a report in British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mirror.
Inter manager Jose Mourinho is reported to have been handed the task of reducing his squad's average age and has therefore identified 23-year-old Modric as a potential target.
Although Spurs manager Harry Redknapp recently acquired the services of versatile defender Pascal Chimbonda, it is suggested he is still on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and Inter may offer 35-year-old Marco Materazzi as part of a swap deal.
With Pavel Nedved set to turn 37 years-old this summer, Juventus are on the search for his long-term successor and Modric may well fit that bill.
The 5ft 8in Croatian international midfielder has got off to a slow start at White Hart Lane following his €17.7 million (£16.5 m) transfer from Dinamo Zagreb last summer and Redknapp failed to include him on his list of 'untouchables' recently.
However, it seems unlikely that Spurs will want to sell Modric as he was an integral part of their 3-1 victory over Stoke City last night, prompting Redknapp to afterwards declare: "He's a top, top player."
