Daniel Day-Lewis is in negotiations to reunite with director Martin Scorsese for the director's next film, 'Silence'.

Variety reports that Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal are also discussing roles in the period drama, which is expected to begin shooting in New Zealand later this year.

Based on the Shusaku Endo novel of the same name, 'Silence' tells the story of two Jesuit priests who travel to 17th century Japan to preach Christianity.
Day-Lewis and Scorsese previously worked together on 'Gangs of New York' and 'The Age of Innocence'.
