Point guard Denver Harris scored 28 points as the New Jersey Nets defeated the stuttering Denver Nuggets 114-70.

Harris scored 17 points in the first half as the Nets surged to a 59-39 lead at the break. The All-Star had only three baskets but was 11-of-13 from the line in the opening 24 minutes.

The beat went on in the third quarter as Harris added another 11 points and the Nets pushed the margin past the 30-point mark. New Jersey enjoyed a 68-36 edge over the middle 24 minutes.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 14 of his 44 points in overtime and the Dallas Mavericks overcame a five-point deficit late in regulation and went on to a 115-114 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Jason Kidd hit a 3-point shot to tie the game at 97-97 - his first bucket of the night - with 13.1 seconds left to force overtime. Derrick Rose made a pretty drive in the game's final seconds, but couldn't get the shot to fall.

Marreese Speights and Andre Miller led seven players in double figures with 15 points apiece as the Philadelphia 76ers snapped a two-game slide with a 94-84 win over the Miami Heat.

Trailing 69-63 at the beginning of the fourth, the Sixers used a 21-5 run over the first six minutes of the period to grab the lead. Royal Ivey nailed a three-pointer and capped the spurt with a layup. Speights scored the final three points and nine in the fourth quarter for Philadelphia.

Richard Hamilton scored a season-high 36 points and made some crucial free throws down the stretch, leading the Detroit Pistons to a wild 126-121 overtime victory over the injury-riddled Milwaukee Bucks.

Allen Iverson finished with 27 points and nine assists and Rasheed Wallace added 27 with a career-high seven 3-pointers for the Pistons, who have won back-to-back contests.

The Minnesota Timberwolves fell apart in the final 15 minutes as the Houston Rockets stormed back for a 107-90 victory.

For the better part of three quarters, such a lopsided result wouldn't have seemed possible.

With Al Jefferson matching All-Star Yao Ming inside - and, in fact, winning that battle - the Timberwolves looked well on their way to an upset victory on the road against a likely playoff team. But Minnesota self-destructed thereafter. Rafer Alston knocked down three straight jumpers - including two from the arc - late in the third quarter to turn a one-point deficit into a seven-point lead.

OJ Mayo endured a rough showing before catching fire late in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 of his 16 points in the final frame to lift Memphis Grizzlies to a 78-70 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

.Finally, the Los Angels Clippers trounced the Atlanta Hawks 121-97 for their second straight win - giving the team back-to-back wins for just the second time all season.
