Preliminary results of a post mortem examination of the body of Cork woman, Ann Corcoran, indicate that she died of head injuries.
It is understood that an attempt was made to burn the body before it was buried in woods near Ballinspittle in Co Cork.
The 60-year-old's body was found yesterday almost three weeks after she went missing.
A 49-year-old man was last night charged with falsely imprisoning Mrs Corcoran at her home between 19 and 21 January.
Oliver Hayes, 10 Clancool Terrace, Bandon, was remanded in custody to Kinsale District Court on Thursday.
