The Next 2009 HOF Inductee Says, "I Don't Deserve The Honor"

Terry Funk, an area native and former football star at then-West Texas State, will receive the ultimate pro wrestling honor April 4 when he is inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame during ceremonies in Houston.

"I don't deserve the honor," Funk said.

Many would disagree as Funk has been an ambassador for the Panhandle during his worldwide travels, especially in Japan, where he is a wrestling icon.

Funk will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin during weekend festivities surrounding WrestleMania XXV at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

Funk should be in the hall of fame only because he paved the way for the whole original ECW

Yeah, Funk definitely deserves it. He didn't do much in the WWF/E, but in other pretty much everywhere else he went he found success.

Funk is one of the few guys who've ever been able to be as big of a heel as they were a face. He's a true legend and very deserving of the honor.
