A spokesperson for Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has written to a UK newspaper to again deny a claim that he attended an exclusive show by ABBA tribute band Bjorn Again.
Putin's officials last week denied Bjorn Again's claim that they played a secret show in January for the statesman, during which he danced a jig and shouted "bravo".
Now Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, has written to The Times, saying that he was "sorry to disappoint" the group.
Peskov said: "I don't know who their audience consisted of, but Vladimir Putin was not one of them. He was actually working in his office that Thursday evening, meeting members of the Cabinet."
Bjorn Again's Rod Stephen had said on Friday that the group were paid £20,000 for the secret show outside of Moscow and that Putin had a "great time".
Peskov said in his letter: "Mr Putin is more of a Beatles fan than an Abba one, as you can see if you read an interview by Andrew Lloyd Webber with Mr Putin on our website."
