New 'American Idol' judge Kara DioGuardi has said that she is "disappointed" by Paula Abdul's remarks about her.
Abdul reportedly said that the talent show "doesn't work" with four judges on the panel instead of three, as in previous series of the show.
Speaking to 'Access Hollywood', DioGuardi said: "Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person."
"I'm proud of my contributions to the show and remain excited about the rest of the season."
A representative for Abdul later said that the judge had been referring to guest judges in past seasons of the show and that the quote was "taken out of context".
