The following press release was issued stating that WWE/ECW announcer Todd Grisham has a role in a new film:
Long Island, New York 2/26/2009) –
In the attempt to follow in the footsteps of directors like Ed Burns and Ted Demme, Long Island filmmaker Cory Poccia started his journey this past “Oscars” weekend as he began principal photography on Face for Radio at the WBLI studios in West Babylon, NY . This film takes the “whodunit?” genre to new heights as – “During his final radio broadcast as a New York shock jock, Pete Johns gets on the line with a killer who is confessing to murders he has committed”. Todd Grisham, announcer for World Wrestling Entertainment and Fox Sports Channel, is “excited to work on this project”. He, coincidentally, plays a news reporter, alongside stars Kev Meehan, Anne-Marie Stefani, James Erickson, Joe Amatulli, and Craig Parten. “Each of these actors have something unique to bring to the table”, Poccia said about his team. When asked about the story, the two-time award winning director noted, “I was a big fan of films like Talk Radio and Play Misty for Me. I think a disc jockey could have a more powerful voice than the President and I would like to see them portrayed more on the big screen”. Poccia also noted that a teaser trailer should be released in the next few weeks. The film will be produced by Cory Poccia, Craig Parten, and Aryeh Sobel, the team who brought you New York Film Festival Selection, Once Upon a Time in New York. It will be shot by Cara Howe (HBO’s The Sopranos, Emmett’s Mark) and penned by Cory Poccia and Aryeh Sobel.
