One person was killed in a rocket attack on a British military base in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said.
A foreign civilian was killed but no Britons were injured during the attack on the base near Basra Airport, an MoD spokesman said.
"We can confirm there has been a rocket attack on a contingency operating base at Basra Airport," he said.
"There has been one foreign civilian fatality and there is an ongoing investigation.
"There are no British casualties."
