Gears of War 2 multiplayer will be getting a much-needed overhaul later this month when the game's third title update goes live on March 24, and Gears fans will be able to test out these tweaks on the brand new Snowblind Map Pack starting March 31. Developer Epic Games whipped up a post on their official Gears of War blog detailing the impending patch notes, in addition to the list of maps included with the upcoming DLC.

Among the changes in the title update are a new experience-based ranking system, nine new Achievements, the addition of bots to replace dropped players in online matches, newly-optimized matchmaking, and plenty of exploit fixes and general rebalancing. Curious Gears addicts can meticulously pore over the release notes in their entirety at the game's website.

As for the Snowblind Map Pack, it's set to feature a frostier version of the popular Fuel Depot stage from the first Gears, as well as three totally original maps. Courtyard is vaguely described as a "wide-open battle royale," while the levels Under Hill and Grind Yard take place in a system of icy tunnels and a multi-tier industrial complex, respectively. No word as of yet on how much this DLC will cost, but expect it to run you at least as much as the three-pack of maps that released late last year for 800 Microsoft points, or about $10.

So what's it going to be, Xbox 360 owners? Are you excited about more Gears, or have you already moved on to the next big multiplayer game?--
