FRANKSTON — An East Texas man who's been married for 81 years has banked at the same place longer than that.

First State Bank of Frankston on Tuesday will hold ceremonies recognizing its 100-year anniversary and some longtime customers, including James "Heavy" Scott.

Scott, at 102, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph that he guesses he knows the bank "as good as anybody."

The retired trucker and Neches River Authority worker said he has kept his money in First State Bank of Frankston since he was a teenager.

The newspaper reported Monday that First State Bank of Frankston was chartered Jan. 20, 1909. Deposits the following year reached nearly $71,000, with about $48,000 in loans.

Frankston is a town of about 1,300, located 95 miles southeast of Dallas.
