The Pulp Fiction star and his wife have rarely left their Florida compound since the death of their son Jett at the beginning of the year, but they took a secret round-the-world flight together last week.
They spent part of Easter in Fiji and then flew to Brisbane, Australia on Sunday for a low-key three-day stay.
The Sydney Daily Telegraph reports the couple took in a day trip to Byron Bay and dined with friends as part of their Australian vacation, before Travolta piloted their plane out on Wednesday night.
One local, Alicia Spence, got to pose for a picture with the actor while he was dining at a Chinese restaurant in the city.
She tells the publication, "He was really nice and was happy to be in a photo with us."
