The director of the third film in the 'Twilight' vampire series has been announced.
David Slade, who directed the acclaimed thriller 'Hard Candy' and vampire horror hit '30 Days of Night', will direct the film for a summer 2010 release.
Commenting on Slade's appointment, Stephenie Meyer, author of the 'Twilight' books, said that he was a "visionary filmmaker".
Shooting on the second 'Twilight' film, 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon', began last week in Vancouver.
