Jay Leno was forced to cancel his scheduled recording of 'The Tonight Show' for the first time in 17 years yesterday because he was receiving treatment in hospital.
Reuters reports that the nature of Leno's illness was not disclosed, but the 58-year-old is expected to return to 'The Tonight Show' on Monday.
In a statement, TV network NBC said: "Jay Leno is doing just fine. He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and nurses."

Leno began hosting 'The Tonight Show' in 1992; Conan O'Brien will take over as the new host on 1 June, with Leno moving to his own primetime programme in the autumn.
