RAW Results - 27th April 2009
Location - Bridgeport, Connecticut
Announcers - Michael Cole & Jerry "The King" Lawler

We are live from Bridgeport, Connecticut and your announcers are Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler.

We start off with Vickie Guerrero in the center of the ring and she has someone to ‘Excuse’. She says that she is so proud because last night her husband Edge captured the World Heavyweight Title by beating John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match. She says that it is her honor to introduce the new WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Randy is joined by his fellow members of Legacy, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Randy shows the belt to the fans as he poses on the turnbuckles. Randy gets the mic from Vickie and the fans are not receptive to the new champion. Randy says that the McMahon family is mourning because their last hope, their protector, their champion has fallen. After five long years, he beat Triple H. He says that he did not just pin him, he beat him. He kicked Hunter in the skull as hard as he could and put him out. It was just like he said he was going to do. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. Randy says that no other superstars in the back and nobody in the crowd can say that either. He tells everyone that they are all exactly the same. Those in their 20s hope for big things and big success but in the end, you will amount to nothing. Everyone in their 30s or older are already nothing. Randy says that he is not that way. He says that he is a success and he made history. He has created a legacy that has resulted in the destruction of the entire McMahon family.

We go to a Randy Orton video package of his actions against the McMahon family.

The fans continue to boo Orton as he holds the title on the turnbuckles one more time. Vickie tells Randy that she is so excited that Randy is on her show as the WWE Champion. She is happy to announce that Randy’s first title defense will be in three weeks at Judgment Day. He will face the winner of the match between Big Show and Batista. She then congratulates Randy one more time.

Randy tells everyone that they need to know that he is all that they have left. They don’t need to like him, but they have no choice but to respect him. He says that the wrestlers in the back need to respect him too. Vickie Guerrero might be the general manager, but they will answer to him. If they do not respect him, they will face the same fate as Triple H. He says that it does not matter how long you have been in the company. . .

Montel Vontavious Porter comes out and he reminds Randy who he is and he says that most people call him MVP. He says that what Randy has done has been impressive but he wants to put Randy on notice that he is the United States Champion and he answers to no one.

Ted DiBiase gets on the mic and he says that MVP does not seem too bright. If he wants his first night on Raw to be his worst night, MVP should leave under his own power. Porter tells DiBiase that Orton did not give him permission to talk so he is not leaving. Porter says that he does not have two models speaking for him. Porter says that this is not a dictatorship run by Randy Orton. This is Monday Night Raw and he did not come here to be talked down to. Randy is the WWE Champion, but this is not going to last forever. If Big Show or Batista do not beat Orton at Judgment Day, he will beat Orton.

Cody wants to show Porter what Legacy is about. Randy whispers something in Vickie’s ear and Vickie announces that there is a second main event match tonight. For the first time ever, the United States Champion will face the new WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

We go to commercial.
