Jerry Bruckheimer has ruled out making a sequel to Top Gun.

While attending the premiere of his latest movie, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest in London this week, the producer ruled out a follow up to the 80s movie that made a household name of Tom Cruise.

He said: "I don't think we'll do that. It wouldn't be right."

However, Bruckheimer did reveal he is making a sequel to the adventure film National Treasure, and has confirmed Nicolas Cage is reprising his role as treasure hunter Ben Gates.

He added: "The only other film I've made that I really wanted to make a sequel to, apart from Pirates of the Caribbean, is National Treasure.

"We're in the process of doing that right now and we start filming in January. So far we've got most of the original cast back too, including Nicolas, so I'm happy."

National Treasure was awesome... The sequel should be interesting :agree:

Can't say I am saddened by the news there will be no Top Gun sequel though.
