ZENIT ST PETERSBURG forward Pavel Pogrebnyak admits he would relish the chance to link up with former team-mate Andrei Arshavin at Arsenal.
Reports have suggested Gunners boss Arsene Wenger could target Pogrebnyak at the end of the season in a bid to bolster his attacking options.
The 25-year-old Russia international was linked with a switch to Blackburn in January but it appears the north Londoner’s have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals.
Pogrebnyak said: "It is the first time I have heard of Arsenal as an option.
"But of course I am pleased that the club is interested in me.
"I think for any player to have the opportunity to work with Arsene Wenger would be a big step forward."
Pogrebnyak has scored 21 goals in 51 games for Zenit and has made 14 appearances for the Russian national team.
