Actor Ryan O'Neal has asked longtime partner Farrah Fawcett to marry him, as she continues her courageous fight against cancer.
The 62-year-old Charlie's Angels star has been battling anal cancer since 2006, with longtime companion O'Neal by her side.
Fawcett's longtime representative Joan Dangerfield told reporters earlier this month (Jun09) the pair - who share 24 year old son Redmond O'Neal - planned to wed last spring (09) in Germany, where the actress was receiving cutting edge treatment. Plans were scrapped when organisers couldn't arrange the big day in time.
O'Neal says the actress is bravely "fighting for her life," and is waiting patiently for Fawcett to become well enough before the couple finally exchange vows.
He says, "I've asked her to marry me again, and she's agreed. I swear to God... If she can just nod her head. I promise you, we will."
