A confirmation of the next game in the Fable series might have turned up in The New York Times wedding announcement of Amy Gilbert and Joshua Atkins. Gilbert, who is keeping her own name and studying for her Ph.D. in molecular medicine, is marrying Joshua Albert, "the lead game designer for Fable III." It's certainly an odd place for a game announcement, and could have been a typo. But Lionhead has hinted at another game in the series several times before, not least of which from the unresolved ending to Fable 2.
Joystiq received a standard "no comment" from Microsoft, stating they "have nothing to announce regarding future Lionhead Studios projects." We'll see if any official word comes, now that the cat seems to be out of the bag.
