Shogan by James Clavell

Summary:
Capt. Blackthorne, an english sailor, takes his crew to the brink of death while trying to get to the Japans by way of the Magellin stright. They hit a horrible storm and when Blackthorne awakes he is in the captivity of the Japanesse Samuri. You now follow him as he learns to live side by side with the Samuri, all the while still trying to make trade negotiations and return home. The problem is Japan is on the brink of war and Lord Toranaga, leader of the Toranaga Samuri, sees Blackthorne as a wealth of knowledge and an asset in the sure to come war.


I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes to read. The story flows so well that you almost can't put it down and all the characters are extremly well presented. I give it a 10/10. If you don't read you can find the Shogan mini-series on DVD. Also very good.
