Earlier this week, Remedy Entertainment passed on the slightly disconcerting news (for PC gamers, anyway) that they're "focusing all our efforts on the 360 version" of Alan Wake, with news on the PC version "coming at a later time." Now, that "later time" seems even more insubstantial, as lead writer Sam Lake has told Edge-Online that nothing is set in stone after the 360 version is complete.
"Yes, that's correct. We are fully concentrated on the Xbox 360 version," Lake said, reasserting the new passed on through their forums earlier. "Other than that the plans are up in the air and open. Once we get this version done we'll see." When asked more specifically about a future PC release, Lake wouldn't confirm that it's inevitable: "As I said, the plans are open, and once we're done with the 360 version we'll evaluate the situation and see what makes sense," he responded.

So as you can see, "we'll evaluate the situation" isn't exactly as reassuring as "coming at a later time," which wasn't very reassuring to begin with. As of now, Alan Wake -- which has been five years in the making -- is planned for release in spring of 2010 for the Xbox 360.
