Most of the major Marvel and DC heroes have now received multiple movies and video games, but until now the Green Lantern has languished with Wonder Woman in the background. That'll change in a couple years though, and that means we'll inevitably be seeing a Green Lantern video game.
According to Venturebeat, that game will reportedly be developed by Double Helix, and is being linked to the movie, which is scheduled for June 17. As usual, there will reportedly be both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the title.

Double Helix is comprised primarily of veterans from Shiny Entertainment and The Collective, and is currently working on Front Mission Evolved as well as the adaptation of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.

For the Green Lantern's part, this marks the 50th anniversary of the Silver Age's Hal Jordan. The event will be celebrated at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.

Warner Bros. called the new title "rumor and speculation," but it seems pretty reasonable to assume that there will be a Green Lantern game at some point. Whether or not it's developed by Double Helix, expect it sometime in mid-2011.
