FOR five long years Abyss didn't speak on television or in interviews.

But when masked wrestlers decide to break their silence with a shoot interview, they break it in The Sun.

In our exclusive WrestleCast, TNA's Monster reveals his dream match would be against fellow hardcore icon Mick Foley.

He then tells how he first fell in love with the wrestling business and admits that WWE have tried to poach him three times.

Abyss — who tours the UK with TNA in January — also discusses his favourite matches, his friendship with Jeremy Borash, creating the character of Abyss with Dutch Mantel and his "absolutely hot, make-believe girlfriend" Lauren.

But for those who can't wait for the download — here are the best bits...

On a match with Mick Foley: "I'd love to work with Mick some day. It would be a dream match for me.

"If you asked me who my dream opponent would be, right now, I'd say him. Without a doubt.

"And you never know what the future holds, we may do it.

"I personally think the fans would really like to see it. It would be a heck of a draw."

On going through a flaming table: "I don't know if there's a way you can prepare for it, you just kinda block it out and hope to God.

"Entering a match like that, it's not a matter of if I'm going to get hurt — it's just a matter of how bad.

"When Team 3D put me through that fire table at Bound For Glory last year that's the most intense pain, as a shoot, that I've ever felt in my life.

"I'm not in a hurry to do that again.

"I had severe burns on my lower back, the impact really hurt and being put out by a fire extinguisher is never the best feeling in the world."

On first discovering wrestling: "The first guy I ever saw was Roddy Piper and he just drew me in.

"It was 1982 or 1983 and, growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, they were on at 11 o'clock at night.

"I wasn't even allowed to be up that late! I'd have to sneak to watch it.

"The first time I flipped through, he was cutting a promo for WrestleMania I, on Hulk and Mr T, and I was just drawn immediately to it.

"I got to actually know Roddy and he's an excellent person too."

On being approached by WWE: "I've had opportunities to go there.

"That I can count for sure, there's been three opportunities to leave and go.

"There was high interest from WWE, but I just haven't had any interest in going.

"I'm one of the originals, I've been with TNA since the one year anniversary of the company.

"And very few people in this business can say they've been there from the beginning."
