Lindsay Lohan's mother has defended the Mean Girls star against recent criticism, insisting that her daughter is a "genius" in her business ventures.
Manager Dina Lohan, who previously pleaded with the tabloids to leave the actress alone, told OK! that the 23-year-old just wants to be successful in her career and her family life.
Discussing the star's recently formed production company, Dina said: "Lindsay is a genius. Such a good heart. Lindsay will direct one day, she loves directing."
She added: "I taught my children to love. And if you fall in love, life is about that. Family, it’s not about work. You want goals, you want it to be, but you still want someone to share that with, so it’s kind of an open ended question. We’re all living that."
Lindsay recently claimed that she is "very happy" in her on-off relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson, adding that the couple are "trying to make" their stormy romance work.
