Cameron Diaz has admitted that she would refuse to star in a remake of the The Sound of Music.
The Charlie’s Angels actress was named by Dame Julie Andrews as her first choice for the role of Maria Von Trapp, if an update of the 1965 movie ever came to fruition, Contactmusic reports.
Diaz, who met the Oscar-winner while working on two of the Shrek films, revealed that she would not even consider the part if it was presented to her.
She said: "I don't know if I would do it because that is one of those awe-striking moments. Julie is amazing and I don't know if I could follow an act like that.
"I worked with her on Shrek. I got to spend some time with her during the press tour and she is just the epitome of grace and elegance, so I'm very flattered that she even said that."
The 36-year-old recently credited the marriage of her parents as the key to her successful film career.
