We've seen rumors of the "PS3 Slim" pop up not once, not twice, not three times, but four different times in the past three months. And now this one makes five: Engadget picked up on a new listing on Amazon's German site for a "PlayStation 3 Konsole slim." We're not fluent in German, but we're pretty sure we know what that means.
Although the listing originally went up without a picture, checking the page now reveals an image (shown right) of what sure looks to be the rumored PS3 Slim as it showed up in previous images. (Note that this is not an official image from Sony -- it was a user created one that Amazon borrowed). The listing still has no price, no release date, and even the platform for the product is listed as "platform independent," but this still seems to be the strongest evidence yet that Sony is planning to introduce a slimmed down PS3 some time soon. Or, maybe Amazon could simply be jumping the gun on their own without any actual word from Sony.
So, until we get that ever elusive official confirmation, we'll technically have to continue to consider this a rumor for now. But at the rate at which these PS3 Slim rumors keep popping up, how much longer can Sony really go without definitively addressing it one way or another?
