Usually when a videogame drops down in price, it's to drive up sales weeks after being released. Microsoft and Ubisoft are being a little more proactive: IGN reports that they've decided to drop the price of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled from its original 1200 Microsoft Points to the new mark of 800 points -- or to use actual monetary figures, from $15 down to $10.
Turtles in Time Re-Shelled is the second title in Microsoft's so-called Summer of Arcade promotional event, and is set to release this Wedensday. It's not often that an unreleased game gets a price cut just days before it goes on sale, but it seems this change was a result of mounting pressure over the steep pricing of all the Summer of Arcade titles. Just recently, Microsoft already attempted to placate angry frugal gamers by announcing that those who buy all five Summer of Arcade releases before August 31 will get 800 points returned for free, which, again, is a value of $10.

In any case, Ninja Turtles fans looking to relive their wasted youths with Turtles in Time Re-Shelled will now be able to do it five bucks cheaper. Now let's just hope the remake is actually worth it.
