Alongside today's downloadables, Nintendo is launching the new Facebook integration for the DSi first announced at this year's E3 press conference. A system update launching today will allow Facebook members to upload photos straight from their DSi systems to the social Web site. This includes photos that have been altered with the facial manipulation software that Nintendo has featured prominently in the DSi commercials. "We're giving people the tools to express themselves in creative new ways and show off the results to their friends and family on Facebook," said vice president of sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway.
The social media trends are picking up steam as more console manufacturers are trying to take advantage of the services. Microsoft is planning to integrate Facebook in a new dashboard update as well.
