In case you're planning on downloading any games off Steam tomorrow and haven't already been made aware, Valve is planning to perform maintenance on "some" Steam servers beginning at 6PM PST on Thursday, August 6 and may last up to three hours. During that window, a number of things will be made inaccessible, including Steam Community, matchmaking (any that rely on Steam, that is), downloads from Steam servers, and purchases on the Steam store.
As minor as this event might be, it's sure to bring out the anti-Steam crowd who will cite this as the clear sign of the Steam apocalypse where you're unable to download games you own and things of that nature.
