TAZ will replace Don West as Mike Tenay's TNA commentary partner, the company has announced.
The former ECW and WWE star will assume colour commentary recordings from the next episode of Impact onwards.
West is staying with TNA — being promoted within the organisation to oversee merchandise development and sales initiatives.
Taz said: "I'm already loving my new role in TNA, I had a blast with Mike T, TNA will sound different.
"I'm so happy Don West is still in TNA, it shows the type of front office we have.
"The dude has been here for seven years, you don't can him, you promote him."
Ex-ECW world champion Taz has a good reputation as a wrestling announcer.
When his in-ring career ended during his WWE run he took care of colour duties on the Smackdown and ECW brands for the rest of his employment in Stamford, before jumping ship to join TNA as Samoa Joe's adviser.
Many see the shake-up as a positive move for TNA as the Tenay-West pairing needed freshening up after seven successful years.
