As noted earlier this week on PWInsider.com, Don West's removal from the TNA broadcast team was to free West up for more responsibilities with the company's merchandising and licensing arm. West was actually at all of the Impact tapings this week filming vignettes for Impact and the TNA website to promote different products and sales that will be ongoing at www.shoptna.com. I was told one of the plans is to use West's background in the collectibles market to push TNA into different areas and create unique collectible items using the company's performers.

The first such project was actually launched today on the TNA Shop website with the idea that it could appeal to both sports collectors and TNA collectors as West has launched the first in a series of signed Major League Baseballs that were autographed by different TNA talents.

The balls, all priced at $69.95, are limited to a short run of 36 each in order to increase the uniqueness and future value. The initial four names featured are Kurt Angle, Suicide, Beer Money Inc. and The Motor City Machineguns. West's inspiration for the line was finding out about an online auction that saw a baseball signed by TNA Knockout Velvet Sky going for $200.

For more information about the line, visit http://shoptna.com/baseballs.aspx.
